Senior Scientist / Group Leader, Target & Biomarker Validation

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a group focused on the development and validation of biomarkers for S*BIO’s drug discovery projects as well as the validation and evaluation of targets for new drug discovery projects. The candidate will also be required to take on a leadership role for either a new drug discovery project or championing a compound during its development phase. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively and strong scientific leadership are key requirements for this position. The following qualities are desired for this position MD or Ph.D. in life sciences with a minimum of 5 years of post-doctorial experience in cancer biology and industrial experience in the drug discovery area Knowledge and experience in molecular, cell biology and cancer biology and key pathways in human cancer Excellent track record in target validation and/or assay development High proficiency in the interpretation, statistical analysis and reporting of experimental data Excellent observational, organizational and documentation skills Excellent command of English and communication skills. Able to manage multiple and complex projects Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team as well as a multi-cultural environment Able to lead and motivate others Extensive experience and knowledge of biomarkers for assessment of drug efficacy or patient selection Experience or knowledge of other aspects of drug discovery and development (e.g. pharmacokinetics, metabolism, toxicology, clinical trials) preferred
