Using both in vitro and in vivo approaches, S*BIO focuses on validating targets and testing new drug candidate molecules in appropriate disease models. These models are utilized throughout all stages of drug discovery, from target validation and lead optimization to translation into the clinic.
Activities include:
- In vivo tumor model development using the most appropriate cell lines for each drug discovery project
- In vivo testing of compounds in diverse disease models, including mouse models for solid cancers (prostate, colon) and for blood-borne tumors (leukemia, myeloproliferative disease)
- Measurements of drug exposure (pharmacokinetics, PK) and target efficacy (pharmacodynamics, PD) in normal and diseased tissue
- Therapeutic efficacy and safety testing
