 Demonstrating target efficacy of S*BIO’s drugs in cells and tissues is a key process in the company’s drug discovery and development projects

Development of biomarker assay
Drug Discovery

  • Cell-based target efficacy biomarker assays are utilized as secondary screens to demonstrate that compounds are active in cells
  • Ex vivo biomarker assays are utilized to demonstrate target inhibition in in vivo models in normal and diseased tissues

A variety of experimental techniques are utilized, including Western blotting, ELISA, FACS, IHC and IF

Drug Development

For clinical trials, biomarker assays are established and validated using cell lines, primary cells and tissues from animal tumor models

Phase I

Target efficacy biomarkers for ongoing trials with S*BIO’s HDAC and JAK2 inhibitors are currently performed in house

Phase II & II

Array technologies to identify proteins and genes, which could serve as predictive biomarkers to aid patient selection are under evaluation.
