Tamar Howson - Interim CEO & Board Member

Tamar Howson took over the helm as the company’s interim CEO from September 2011. She was most recently with transaction advisory firm, JSB-Partners. Between 2001 and 2007 Tamar was the SVP of Corporate and Business Development at Bristol Myers Squibb overseeing M&A, licensing, and research collaborations across all business sectors. Between 1991 and 2000, she was the VP and then SVP and Director of Worldwide Business and Corporate Development, for SmithKline Beecham. Between 1998 and 2000 she also managed SmithKline Beecham’s $100MM venture capital fund, SR One. Tamar served as SVP of corporate and business development at Lexicon, a biotech company, a business development and strategy consultant and Director for several biotechnology companies, (Ariad, NPS, SkyePharma, Targacept), and a Special Limited partner at Care Capital and several advisory boards. Tamar is currently a Director at Idenix, S*BIO and Oxigene. Tamar holds a MBA from Columbia U., MS from CCNY and BS in Chem. E. from the Technion, Israel.


Dr. Kantharaj Ethirajulu - Head, Preclinical Development

Dr Kantharaj heads S*BIO's preclinical development group. Prior to joining S*BIO, he has worked with Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development, Belgium as team leader, ADME/Tox department and AstraZeneca R&D in India as Head of DMPK and Bioanalytical Chemistry. He has played crucial role in the drug discovery programs in guidance and decision making with respect to the optimisation of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic properties of the lead compounds and selection of drug candidates for further development. He was in the steering committee of global networking DMPK working groups at both AstraZeneca and JNJPRD. He is also serving as Adjunct Associate Professor at Department of Chemical & Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.




Dr. Forrest H. Fuller - Consulting Vice President Business Development

Forrest Fuller brings to S*BIO nearly thirty years of early stage biotechnology experience. Dr. Fuller previously held key scientific and business development leadership positions at Scios, NPS Pharmaceuticals, Trega Biosciences, Elitra Pharmaceuticals and TargeGen. He has extensive experience in intellectual property portfolio management and has negotiated and managed multiple external collaborations and M&A transactions including the sale of TargeGen to Sanofi-Aventis in 2010. Dr. Fuller has helped launch numerous entrepreneurial companies through his work with such programs as UCSD CONNECT and the Governor’s Advisory Counsel to the Utah Centers of Excellence Program (COEP). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (University of Utah) and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Harvard University).




Dr Andrew Dorr - Medical Advisor

Dr. Dorr is a medical oncologist with a long history of successful cancer drug development experience, with leadership participation in the development of Gemzar (gemcitabine) in pancreatic and non-small cell lung cancers, Treanda (bendamustine) in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma as well as Avastin (bevacizumab) in glioblastoma. He worked as a Senior Investigator at the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program, Clinical Research Advisor at Eli Lilly and Company, Chief Medical Officer at Isis Pharmaceuticals and Chief Operating Officer at Salmedix
