June 2010 15th Congress of the European Hematology Association
Dr. John Seymour, from Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, East Melbourne, Australia spoke on “First Report of the Phase-1 Study of the Novel Oral JAK2 Inhibitor SB1518 in Patients with Myelofibrosis” at the Myeloproliferative Disorders – Clinical session of the 15th Congress of the European Hematology Association. This event was held in Barcelona from 10-13 June 2010.

June 2010 Jefferies 2010 Global Life Sciences Conference
Dr. Jan-Anders Karlsson, CEO of S*BIO, presented at the Jefferies 2010 Global Life Sciences Conference. He highlighted the significant progress made by S*BIO on its various programs. This event was held in New York from 8-11 June 2010.

April 2010 AACR 101st Annual Meeting 2010
Dr. Stefan Hart, Senior Scientist with S*BIO, presented a poster “SB1518, a novel oral JAK2-FLT3 inhibitor, is efficacious in models of acute myeloid leukemia and primary leukemic cells from patients” during the poster session at AACR 101st Annual Meeting 2010 in Washington, DC, 17-21 April 2010.
Dr. Jeanette Wood, Head of Biology and Dr. Stefan Hart, Senior Scientist with S*BIO, presented a poster “The histone deacetylase inhibitor SB939 acts synergistically with Sorafenib in an orthotopic model of hepatucellular carcinoma” during the poster session at AACR 101st Annual Meeting 2010 in Washington, DC, 17-21 April 2010.
Dr. Francis Burrows, Head, Oncology Biology at Tragara Pharmaceuticals Inc., presented a poster ”TG02, a novel multi-kinase inhibitor with potent anti-leukemic activity” during the poster session at AACR 101st Annual Meeting 2010 in Washington, DC, 17-21 April 2010. TG02 is also known as SB1317 and is currently licensed to Tragara from S*BIO.

March 2010 Drug Discovery Technology World Asia 2010 Conference at BioPharm Asia Convention 2010, Singapore
Dr. Brian Dymock, S*BIO’s Head of Chemistry, spoke on “Impacting Medicinal Chemistry in the hottest areas in cancer: a perspective from Singaporean Biotech” in the session “Technologies in lead discovery and optimization” of the Drug Discovery Technology World Asia 2010 conference. This conference was part of the BioPharm Asia Convention 2010 held at the Raffles Convention Centre, Singapore, 16-19 March 2010.

January 2010 UK-Singapore Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry
Dr. Brian Dymock, S*BIO’s Head of Chemistry, spoke on ‘How to make real drugs the Singapore way: fast, furious and fun.’ This event was held at the Matrix, Biopolis, Singapore from 25-26 January 2010.

Dr. P.M. Ramanujulu, Senior Scientist, and Dr. Stéphanie Blanchard, Medicinal Chemistry Scientist of S*BIO, respectively presented the posters ‘Novel inhibitors of PDK1 identified through NMR fragment based screening’ and ‘Purine derivatives as inhibitors of PDK-1’ at the UK-Singapore Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry.

January 2010 Biotech Showcase 2010
Dr. Kantharaj Ethirajulu, S*BIO’s Head of Pre-Clinical Development presentation at Biotech Showcase 2010 highlighted the significant progress made in the company’s clinical programs. The event was held in San Francisco from 12-13 January 2010.

December 2009 2009 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology in New Orleans, LA, USA
Dr. KeeChuan Goh, Senior Scientist with S*BIO, presented two posters: "Pharmacodynamic (PD) Biomarker Assay Validation for SB1518" and "The Effects of SB1518 on ex vivo expanded PV Erythroid Progenitors” at the 2009 Annual Meeting of American Society of Hematology, New Orleans, LA, 5-8 December 2009.

Dr. Anas Younes from the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center presented "Phase I Study of the Novel Oral JAK-2 Inhibitor SB1518 in Patients with Relapsed Lymphoma" at the 2009 Annual Meeting of American Society of Hematology session on Lymphoma.

Dr. Srdan Verstovsek presented a poster on "Phase I Dose-Escalation Trial of SB1518" at the Myeloproliferative Syndromes session at the 2009 Annual Meeting of American Society of Hematology.

November 2009 2009 AACR-EORTC-NCI Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics Conference in Boston, MA, USA
Dr. Stefan Hart, Senior Scientist with S*BIO, presented a poster on our dual PI3K/mTOR program during the Poster Session of the 2009 AACR-EORTC-NCI Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics Conference in Boston, MA, USA, 15-19 November 2009.

Dr. Lilian Siu (Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto, Canada) presented a clinical poster entitled “Phase I Clinical, Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Study of SB939, an Oral Histone Deacetylase Inhbitor (HDACi), in Patients with Advanced Solid Tumors” during the Poster Session of the 2009 AACR-EORTC-NCI Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics Conference in Boston, MA.

Dr. Haishan Wang, Group Leader of S*BIO, presented “Discovery of SB939, an HDAC Inhibitor with Class-Leading Properties” at CHI's Seventh International Discovery on Target held in Boston, US from 2-4 November 2009.

October 2009 BIT’s Annual Congress of International Drug Discovery Science and Technology (IDDST)
Dr. Anders Poulsen, Senior Scientist of S*BIO, presented “Structure-based Design of Aurora A&B Inhibitors” at BIT’s 7th Annual Congress of International Drug Discovery Science and Technology (IDDST) held in Shanghai, China from 22-25 October 2009

August 2009 International Symposium on Advances in Synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry
Dr. Angeline Lee, Medicinal Chemistry Scientist of S*BIO, presented a poster at the 3rd International Symposium on Advances in Synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry held in Kiev, Ukraine from 23-27 August 2009. Her presentation entitled “Design and Synthesis of Novel Pyrimidine Macrocycles as Potent FLT3/JAK2 Inhibitor” was awarded the MedChemComm poster Prize at the conference.

July 2009 International Conference on Medicinal Chemistry (RICT45)
Dr. Stéphanie Blanchard, Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry, of S*BIO, presented at the 45th edition of the International Conference on Medicinal Chemistry (RICT 45). Her presentation at the Drug Discovery and Selection session was entitled ‘Targeted Small Molecule Anti-Cancer Drugs: An Asian Perspective from Discovery to Clinical’.
